We’re well on our way to winter now, which can only mean one thing…the festive season is nearly upon us! There’s something so very magical about this time of year and there really is nothing better than cosying up in lots of layers to help keep the cold at bay.
One of our very favourite winter woollies to pull on at this time of year absolutely has to be cashmere, one of the softest and most luxurious fabrics you can find. Its fibres are incredibly fine, so much so that it almost resembles silk once spun…so it’s no wonder that it’s such a popular option among those with a taste for the finer things in life.
If you’ve already started thinking about gift-giving (it’s never too early to be organised, after all!), you might well find that cashmere is the perfect option for lots of friends and family.
Not much says “I love and appreciate you” better than some luxurious cashmere knitwear and because there are so many different accessories and clothes available in this wonderful material, you’re sure to be able to find the perfect pressie for everyone on your shopping list.
Cashmere itself comes from the fleece of the cashmere goat (hence the name!), which can be found in China, Iran, Iraq, Inner Mongolia, Turkey and Afghanistan. It’s long been a favourite of the well heeled among us, dating all the way back to the 14th century, and over the years it has gone on to become synonymous with wealth, status and serious prestige.
So you can see why it might make the very best gift under the tree this year! And, of course, it’s the perfect present to give yourself as well, so don’t be shy about trying a few garments on for size as you shop!
